Unless your assignment specifies the use of only one type of source, we encourage you to interact with various types of sources to make sure that you are seeing a variety of perspectives on a topic. Here's a video from USU Libraries about the importance of using a variety of sources.
Different sources can offer varying depths of coverage on a topic. Starting with Background Information as the most superficial coverage, moving through Popular sources, then Trade Publications, and finally landing on the most in-depth sources - Scholarly/Peer Reviewed.
