Information for faculty on instructional technology at W&J.

Academic technology resources and services

In collaboration with Information and Technology Services, the Instructional Technology Librarian will provide interactive training, knowledge base articles, one-on-one consultations, and other support related to hardware and licensed software for instructional use at Washington & Jefferson College.

Many answers to frequently asked questions can be found in the ITS Knowledge Base, including how-to instructions for using College technologies. Requests for support, and answers to other questions, should be submitted at support.washjeff.edu.

Sakai

Course Sites are created at the beginning of each semester within W&J's learning management system (LMS), Sakai, and enrollment into these Sites is managed by way of an automated process.

In Sakai, faculty have the ability to upload and share file resources such as .pdf reading materialsadminister online assessments (Tests & Quizzes)create and moderate discussion forumsrelease announcements or send private messages to students, distribute and collect assignments, and manage ongoing course grades, in addition to a number of other features which can be enabled throughout individual Course Sites.
