Communication Arts

This guide will introduce you to resources that you can use when studying and researching in Communication Arts.

Citation in CommArts

Classes in Film/Media Studies and Theater largely use MLA citation style for scholarly works. A print copy of the MLA style guide is kept at the Reference Desk to consult and we also offer access to the MLA Style Center online.

Journalists and those who study Journalism largely use the Associated Press (AP) citation style. We do not offer online resources for AP Style, but we do keep a print copy of the style guide at the Reference Desk for anyone to consult.

If you aren't sure which style you should be using, it's always best to ask your professor and once you know which style you're supposed to be using, a librarian is always happy to help you with any specific questions about citation format.
