FYS 199-01 Pushing to Limit, (Dunn) Fall 2024: Assignment

Research Project:

We have talked about different people this semester that demonstrate characteristics that Duckworth would refer to as grit.  You need to pick a person that we have not talked about in class this semester and research the following topics/answer the following questions:

1. Explain the background and main accomplishments of the person.
2. How have they demonstrated that they have a high level of grit?
3. What life experiences helped them develop grit?   

You will be working with a partner for this project.

Create a poster answering the above questions that you will present to the class and at a class poster presentation.    

Before creating the poster, you need to create a detailed outline of what you plan to cover in the poster answering the above questions.  In the outline you need to include in text references from your sources.  You also need to submit a full list of references.  Use APA style referencing.  You must have at least 5 sources and 3 of those sources need to be from a source such as a newspaper article, magazine etc. (not just a website).
