Writing Center

Librarians can help with questions you have about the research process but if your questions are about the writing process, we suggest you reach out to the Writing Center.

Come down to the Writing Center on the ground floor of Swanson Science Center (SWA G006) to meet one-on-one with a peer tutor! From brainstorming and drafting to revising and editing, tutors work with W&J students on all kinds of writing projects.

Whether you feel confident in your writing or feel you struggle toward that final draft, the Writing Center can help you improve your writing and build up your communication skills. Peer Writing Tutors are non-directive and non-evaluative: they will discuss your paper with you to find the solutions you want to implement. At the W&J Writing Center, you always stay in control of your paper and of your voice.

These free writing consultations typically take about 20 minutes -- no appointment needed! Just walk in during open hours to meet with a peer tutor.

Remember to bring any relevant materials (such as your prompt, draft, instructor comments, etc.), to show your tutor. This information helps to give your tutor some context for the work you've done as well as the assignment's expectations.

For more information about the Writing Center, visit their My W&J page: https://mywj.washjeff.edu/office/writing-center.
