Welcome to W&J and the Clark Family Library!
The Library at W&J is both a space and a collection of services that will help you as you navigate your studies at W&J.
This research guide is designed to help you navigate the research process as you work on your research assignments.
Outcomes: Upon completion of this assignment, the student will be able to:
•Understand the key elements or conventions of an annotated bibliography
•Navigate library resources to identify scholarly sources suitable for college-level research
•Read, comprehend, analyze, evaluate, and employ information from peer-reviewed sources
•Quote, summarize, and paraphrase a secondary text with accurate MLA-style citations
Final Draft: 5 sources, at least 3 peer-reviewed located in the library databases or physical holdings, with annotations and proposal.
Research is more than just searching for an answer and reporting that answer. It's an iterative process of asking questions, understanding how others have approached similar questions, and eventually drawing your own conclusions on what you believe the answer to be. If this feels overwhelming, don't be afraid to ask for help from a librarian or your professor!
