We also have much of the DLB in print! You can find it in the Reference section on the Main Floor of the Library in the following range of call numbers: Reference PN 451. D531 v. 1 - 372.
The Dictionary of Literary Biography, DLB, is a great place to go when you need biographical and critical essays on the lives, works, and careers of literary figures. The online database includes access to almost 400 volumes covering a wide variety of topics, periods, & genres - focused mainly on American & British Literature.
Authors and their works can be covered in multiple volumes, for example Flannery O'Connor is featured in several volumes: one with a focus on Southern Women Writers and another focused on American Novelists Since World War II. Depending on the focus of your project you might find some entries more relevant than others.
Use the Advanced Search options to look for entries about a specific person or work.
The database link on this page will take you to the online resource but we also have print copies of the DLB in the Reference section of the library on the main floor.
